GA2 Collage Example Two

In order to make this collage I used Photoshop. My first step for this project was to come up with a theme for this collage. I decided to do the life cycle of a monarch butterfly because that is one thing that we teach at my school. I used creative commons and found all four images there. I then opened all of these images in Photoshop. On Photoshop there is a specific location to create photo collages. I chose a layout that worked with four images. Next, I dragged each image into the layout. Some photos had to be zoomed in or out to show the specific part of the images that I needed. I decided that the green background that it started with went well with these images from nature and was better than any other background. I then added text so that the image can be used in teaching. The only "real" challenge I had was that I had to save the image as the original size at first. I was very concerned that after creating the entire collage that I wouldn't be able to use it because it was too large. After thinking about it for quite some time I figured out that if I just went in to Photoshop and opened moonga2 again I could resize it from there. Simple problem solved :) This entire process of creating a collage from the ground up was new to me. I have only ever created a collage on the Walgreens Photo Website. That is an effective way to create one for print, but using Photoshop allows you to save it to your computer. It is also more personal and you can change it to fit your needs. I love the way that Photoshop allows you to create collages and I feel that I can use this very often in my everyday life. This really makes me want to buy Photoshop and not just have the trial version.
